This role is part of the Technical Operations team supporting the design teams in delivering their products within set parameters and time frames. The role requires the post-holder to work within the clean room to follow instructions and specifications as outlined by the design teams.
Carry out fabrication of advanced optoelectronic research components;
Responsible for assisting with carrying out ongoing maintenance against established uptime targets;
Maintain process documentation to ensure quality and repeatability of processes;
Maintain safety and environmental information to ensure safe working;
Understand and maintain quality and safety systems relating to their work area;
Use initiative to decide when to obtain clarification and advice on issues during processing;
Any other ad hoc duty as requested by the Process Engineering Manager.
Demonstrable experience of working in a technical/laboratory environment;
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity;
Proven ability to take accurate notes relating to processes;
Proven ability working from design drawings and specifications.
HNC in relevant subject;
Demonstrable relevant experience in device fabrication in some of the following; Photolithography, wet etching, RIE etching, metal and dielectric deposition, wafer thinning, cleaving and dicing, facet coating, die and wire bonding, assembly and packaging.
Able to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines;
Proactive and innovative team player who is also capable of working independently;
Displays a positive approach to working and actively seeks to share ideas and information with colleagues;
Able to demonstrate attention to detail;
Good communication and interpersonal skills which show an understanding of the varying levels and cultures within the organisation;

This position is offered on a six month contract with a view to being extended.
