CIP is located in Adastral Park, Martlesham Heath, which is on the outskirts of the town of Ipswich, some 128 km from central London and 89 km from Cambridge. Adastral Park stands in countryside about 12 km from the North Sea and enjoys one of the driest climates in England (50 cm average annual rainfall). Thanks to its proximity to Felixstowe, home of the largest container port in the UK, the area has good road and railway connections to the rest of the UK.

Look at the map for a clear view of our whereabouts. Ipswich is easily accessible from the UK road and rail network, via air and sea:

by air: Stansted, London's third largest airport is located 80 km away, and offers daily direct flights to the US (Newark) and frequent services to numerous European and UK destinations. Connections to Ipswich are via coach and train (through Colchester) and they take around two hours. Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton are the other three London airports from which you can have connections to Ipswich via tube and train, or car (typical journey times of 2-3 hours).

by train: InterCity Rail services leave London Liverpool Street four times per hour throughout most of the day, and there are a number of local services. There are also cross-country rail connections via Peterborough and the Midlands. Cambridge is 80 minutes distant.

by road: Ipswich is reached by road from the A14 (formerly A45) if coming from the Midlands or North, or the A12 from the south. Both of these roads are dual-carriageway and are well connected to the UK motorway network.

by ferry: There is a regular car ferry service between the nearby port of Harwich and the Netherlands.
